The Iditarod is a crazy and amazing event!

We are so very excited to be a part of it this year... but one thing that shouldn't be forgeten is that the race really begins long before the dogs line up on 4th Street in Anchorage when mushers first start training. And something we have been frustrated with over the years is learning just exactly what the mushers do all year to get their dogs and themselves ready for the race each March.

And so here is our solution! (to help all of you)

As we train and prepare for this years race we will post everything we are doing .... from our daily traing logs to how many candy bars we send out on the trail!

Hopefully we will have a great race and this information can go down in history as a great guide in how to plan and run the Iditarod for the first time.

On the other hand maybe we will blow it completely and won't even be able to finish the race...:(

But if that happens then all this planning information can be used as a guide for what NOT to do... :)

In anycase, it is our true hope that all the information presented below is usefull in learning! Learning for any reason... from a student in Florida whose never felt snow before... to a vetran Iditarod musher picking apart all the mistakes we are making!

Enjoy!
